What It Does
You can make individual words in any heading on your site appear in a different color. Just wrap the word in asterisks when you type it. For example, if your podcast is called "Founders in Arms" and you type Founders *in* Arms as your homepage title, the word "in" will appear in your brand's primary color while the rest stays in your normal heading color.
This works in any heading across your site — your homepage title, section headings, page titles, and more.
How to Use It
- Go to any text field in your dashboard that renders as a heading on your site (for example, your Homepage Title under Homepage Header).
- Wrap the word or words you want highlighted with a single asterisk on each side. For example:
The *Best* Podcast About Tech - Save your changes. On your live site, "Best" will now appear in your highlight color.
You can highlight multiple words too: The *Best* Podcast About *Tech* will highlight both "Best" and "Tech."
Choosing a Highlight Color
By default, highlighted words use your primary color. If you want a different color, you can set a custom one:
- Go to Colors, Fonts, Layout in your dashboard.
- Find Highlight Color in either of these places:
- Colors section → under Titles / Headings
- Fonts & Text section → in Advanced settings, under Heading Line Height
- Pick your color and save.
If you leave the Highlight Color empty, your primary color is used automatically.
Tips
- Use highlights sparingly — one or two words per heading works best for visual impact.
- Make sure your highlight color contrasts well with your background so the text is easy to read.
- This works with any color theme (light or dark mode).
